Allie and Kyle’s Wedding Teaser :: The Red Rocks of Sedona, Arizona

How amazing is this view? Raeleen and I flew down from Seattle to shoot Allie and Kyle’s wedding this last weekend in Sedona, Arizona. Absolutely stunning. The weather was awesome and more importantly, we got to capture an amazing couple on their most memorable day. We had such a great time being treated as not just wedding photographers, but as friends, and even family. Thanks so much Allie and Kyle, we had the best time.

Townley :: Senior Portrait Session at Seattle’s Discovery Park

Raeleen and I had an awesome time with Townley on her Senior Portrait Session at Discovery Park in Seattle. We had amazing sunshine and the day was gorgeous! We made a long trek through the huge Seattle park and Townley managed to shine throughout every aspect of the day. I guess that’s the kind of spirit you have when you’re Miss Seattle Teen :) We are such a lucky city to have such a smart, ambitious and fun girl like Townley representing Seattle!

Thanks so much, Townley, enjoy the pictures!

Seattle Green Festival 2009 :: Photography and volunteering

Raeleen and I had the pleasure of volunteering our photography skills at the Seattle Green Festival this year in the Convention Center. Normally, wedding photography is our thing, but any chance to help raise awareness of all the great eco-friendly products out there is right up our alley. We spent Saturday and Sunday seeing everything from elephant poo paper, to fair trade coffee. I feel that Seattle is really getting a good chance to do some good for our environment and maybe seeing some of the great products out there will help us all think green when we plan our events, especially weddings. If any of you have questions about some of the products, don’t hesitate to email me or comment on the blog. Also, if you go to the Green Festivals website all of the products and vendors are listed.

Elephant Poo paper :)
Booties to help save the wolves
Reusable doorknobs
More reusable hardware
Use less plastics!
Saving the streams
Awesome recycled typewriter key necklace
This necklace is made from an old recycled typewriter key! Wouldn’t this be a sweet bridesmaid gift for your green Seattle wedding?
Recycled typewriter key pendants
More awesome pendants from old typewriter keys.
Recycled Watchface bobby pins, very cool wedding gift idea
Again, how cute would these old watchface bobby pins be for a bridesmaid or a wedding gift?
Cufflinks made from old typewriter key pendants
These are awesome! How great would these look on the groom and groomsmen at your wedding? Very cool.
Old floppy diskette sketchbook covers
These sketchbooks were made using recycled floppy diskettes. Some of them are 8″ disks! Really great idea using the tough material in a green way.
Recycled glass pendants and earrings
Rae couldn’t stop at one, we must have sat there for 45 minutes going through all the recycled glass pendant pieces for the perfect ones. These pieces are the remnants from glass blowers and these pieces are refired into pendants and earings to be used for jewelry. Very unique and great colors.
It's the plastic bag monster!
This monster was encouraging all the people at the show to use more plastic bags to help destroy the environment. Scary.
Recycled wrappers made into a bowl
This bowl was made from recycled plastic wrappers. Creative use for a material that won’t biodegrade.
Recylced phonebook handbags
Organic shirts
A great wedding gift for your guy
These chrome razors are awesome! No more disposible plastic and they look great. This would be a great wedding gift for your groom. RetroRazor website
Mushrooms, and lots of 'em
Are you a Bigfoot?
This was a great kids area at the Green Festival where extremely talented actors taught children all about the environment and how to keep down energy consumption.
The eco scientist :)
Warning: Children learning
Worms!
The lady holding the worms gave an awesome talk on apartment composting using red worms. No smell, and great soil can come from such a simple composting box.
Save the streams!
More cool recycled handbags
Clif brand wines
Clif white wine
Organic beer
I'm so happy
Nothing like a fresh organic beer after a long day of photo-volunteering!

Thanks for looking and we hope to see you all next year at the Green Festival in Seattle!
