Who are we and why are we different?

We are a husband and wife team that are both the primary professional photographers.  Rather than one of us pose as the others assistant, we both take on the responsibility to creatively photograph your wedding by complimenting each other’s personal photography style. We do not hire other photographers, just Andy and Raeleen. What does Modern + Vintage mean?

Modern + Vintage has become our mantra, and we feel like that phrase truly encompasses our photography style.  From our early days in art school both of us have been drawn toward art movements such as Art Nouveau, Art Deco, Dada, Minimalism, Pop Art and Futurism (to name a few).  At first, we seemed to be pulled in different directions depending upon our forte, but as our photography style developed it took on a form of its own morphing into a fully functioning contradiction.  We kept all the things we liked, such as expressiveness, colors, organic forms, stoic beauty, seductiveness, clean lines, surprise, mixed in with excessive happiness and created something fresh. 

Our fresh new approach to photography translates into not only telling your wedding story in a bright and beautiful way but also in creating images that reflect who you are.  Your unique, your wedding is distinctive, and we believe your images should echo who you are as an individual.  “Cookie-Cutter” photography is boring, so instead we photograph each wedding differently, letting the unique flavor and details of the day influence our direction.
